Little By Little

Are you like me, in that you want it all, right here, right now?  Things you know that God has promised you.  He has told you that He’s going to lead you to the promise land and give you much fruit for your labor and victory in your battles.  The problem is that we’re so focused on the end result, we miss the opportunities before us.

I’m reminded of how God gave the Israelite’s their promise land.  Little by little.  Battle by battle.  Deut. 7:23 tells us that God did not allow them to take the land all at once, but only gave them small portions at a time.

God works the same way in our lives today; He leads us to where He wants us to go little by little.  Step by step.  We tend to look at the end goal and want to get there all at once.  But most of the time things happen slowly.  And when they do, they are being built upon a much stronger foundation than if we were given everything all at once.

Giving us victory in baby steps allow us to appreciate more fully what God has done for us.  And it also keeps us dependent upon Him for a victory in the next battle.  It keeps us from getting ‘too big for our britches.’  You know what I mean? It keeps us ever trusting in God instead of ourselves.

So my friends, be encouraged.  God is leading you to the promise land and even giving it to you.  But it’ll come little by little, one baby step at a time.
