10 Clever Solutions to Common Household Problems

Hi everyone! I’m totally enjoying the beautiful fall weather we’re having.  Low humidity, low 70’s!  My kind of day!

A friend of mine whom I have known since elementary school passed these on to me the other day.  I couldn’t help but the share them with you.  Lots of clever solutions to everyday problems we encounter around the house.  I haven’t tried any of these yet, but I’ll let you know if I do.  Will you do the same?  Would love to hear if any of these really work.

1.  Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips.

2. Use a meat baster to ‘squeeze’ your pancake batter onto the hot griddle for a perfect shaped pancake every time.

3. To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.

4. To get the most juice out of fresh lemons, bring them to room temperature and roll them under your palm against the kitchen counter before squeezing.

5.  To easily remove burnt-on food from your skillet, simply add a drop or two of dish soap and enough water to cover the bottom of the pan, and bring to a boil on stove-top. The skillet will be much easier to clean.

6. Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator – it’ll keep for weeks.

7. Cure for headaches: Take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead.  The throbbing will go away.

8.  To get rid of itch from mosquito bite, try applying soap on the area – instant relief.

9. Ants, ants, ants everywhere…Well, they are said to never cross a chalk line.  So get your chalk out and draw a line on the floor or wherever ants tend to march – see for yourself.

10.  Use air freshener to clean mirrors.  It does a good job and better still, leaves a lovely smell to the shine.

Enjoy!
