Live By Faith, Not By Sight

Have you ever wondered how easy it is to live by sight? We can see where we’re going, we can see what’s up the road, we can understand what’s happening in the world around us. We can figure things out and find a reason and an explanation for most of what we encounter.
But 2 Corinthians 5:7 tells us us something completely different. Paul and the other apostles choose to live by faith, not by sight. This is much harder and requires that we trust God unconditionally as He leads us from one place to the next. This is what Paul and the apostles did. They didn’t always know where we’re going. Often, they couldn’t see what lay up ahead. And more times than not, human understanding alone was insufficient to explain most of the events that took place in their lives.
Paul encourages us to live with the same amount of faith. We won’t always be able to see where God may be leading us, but we can know for sure that it’s going to be a good place. A place where He will be present; a place where we will find meaning and purpose for our lives. A place where He can use the gifts and talents He’s given us to further His kingdom.
My friends, I know we all want to get to this place. I’m convinced the only way we find it is by living by faith, not by sight.
