At the Proper Time, God Opens His Hand

Reading through Psalm 145 this morning, I camped out a while at verses 15 and 16.  ‘The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time.  You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.”

How many times have I thought that God’s timing was a little off?  It seems He is never in a hurry to answer my cries.  I know He hears them, but sometimes it takes Him forever to answer them.   It’s as if He is holding the answer in a tightly closed fist.  As much as I cry out, He just won’t let it loose.

Until one day, at the most perfect time, He opens His hand.  And as He does, He satisfies my desires. That which I have been praying for gradually becomes a seen reality.  My hope and faith have become sight. My heart smiles and my love for God increases as I realize the wisdom the opening of His hand at the proper time.

We just found out that my husband has been retained in the Air Force until his retirement 4 years from now.  My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord. Let every creature praise His holy name, forever and ever.
