More Chocolate Covered Friendship

I love this book, Chocolate Covered Friendship by Bethany Thouin and Angela Fox. Yummy pictures of delectable chocolate truffles. Lots of new information about my favorite treat. “Venezuelan chocolate is very earthy with a woody kind of taste that makes it the best chocolate to pair with fruit. Chocolate from Madagascar has a fruity flavor and is more acidic in nature, making it a great match for spices.” Who knew?
“Just as chocolate carries with it the history of it’s place of origin, friends have roots that flavor their personalities and idiosyncrasies. It is important to embrace those differences because these unique perspectives give depth and character to our relationships. If you can’t reveal your true self and, at the same time, embrace the true self of each of your friends, friendships will never be more that superficial niceties.”
“When we share our stories with others, we grow in ways that are unexpected and rewarding. What unique qualities do you have to offer in your friendships? Are you being authentic with your friends? And are you helping each of your friends expose her true self to you? When you’re with your friends, bring your whole story with you because that’s what makes you, you. Honest. Unique. True. Your honesty about who you are just might be the only way people will ever get to experience a delicious flavor from your part of the world.”
So true. So true. Be the person God made you to be with your friends. He made us all beautiful and when we’re not ourselves, we rob people of the opportunity to see God’s handiwork. We’re all a work in progress. Sharing in each others journey is what brings richness to our lives.
So grab another piece of our most favorite treat and ring up a friend. Share a story, a laugh and a prayer!
