Redeemer, Teacher and Director

I’m reading this morning from Isaiah 48:17.

This is what the Lord says – your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.

Isn’t God good?  First, He redeems us.  He buys us back from a life of sin and darkness.  But He does not leave us at that point to wander around aimlessly.  He then promises to teach us what is best for us.  Sometimes our classroom is in the difficulties of life.  It’s here where we learn our most meaningful and significant lessons.  Right now, God has me back in the classroom – once again teaching me about things like pride and humility.  How much I have of one, and so little of the other.   UGH!!

With my sin confessed and my heart humbled,  He then directs me in the way I should go.  When we ask Him, He gives us eyes to see, ears to hear, and feet to follow his leading.  His plan is always better than ours.

Thank you Lord, for being our Redeemer, Teacher and Director!
