Get Smart25 Oct

Life can get so complicated, wouldn’t you say?  Everyday we’re faced with decisions of some kind, some of them are very serious.  Decisions about relationships, work, finances, children are just a few of the issues we address on a daily basis.  Some of our decisions have life changing effects on our lives and on the lives of those around us.  How can we be sure we’re making the right decisions?

Proverbs 2 gives us some directions to follow and tells us that if we follow them, our lives will be far better off.  The end result is directly related to how well we follow these directions. Because I’m a get-to-the-point person, here’s a condensed list of how to make good decisions.  Here’s how we can get smart.

    1. Accept God’s word.  Don’t argue about it - just accept it.

    2. Memorize God’s word.  You never know when you’ll need to make a quick decision and you may not have a Bible on hand.

    3. Be proactive in reading God’s word.  Apply yourself. Be intentional.

    4. Ask God for insight and understanding,

    5.  Expect to find the answer you’re looking for - God will give it to you.

If you do all these things, what will happen?

    1. You will understand what is the right decision to make.

    2. You’ll know what to do and what not to do.

    3.  You’ll feel good about doing it.

There you go.  Now we can all make decisions on a daily basis that will be pleasing to God and will benefit not only ourselves, but those around us.  We’ll know exactly what course of action to take and it will be good.
