Psalm 100

I love to read Psalm 100 in The Message.  The words paint a wonderful picture of a God who loves us very much.  Because of this we can enter into His presence, thanking Him and worshiping Him with a grateful heart.  I’ve printed out Psalm 100 for you below and added a few comments on the side.  Please  join me in reading and rejoicing.

On your feet now - applaud God!  Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into his presence. Yes, my friends, we can be Christians and laugh too!!  God even calls our laughter a gift.  Hm….I need to laugh more.

Know this: God is God, and God, God.  He made us; we didn’t make Him.  We’re his people, his well tended sheep. God is God and I am not.  Simple as that.  We are his. With that ownership comes the right to rule in our lives as he sees fit.  But he rules over us as well tended sheep.  He looks after us, protects us and gives us what we need.  Thank you, God.

Enter with the password: ‘Thank you!’ Make yourselves at home, talking praise.  Thank Him.  Worship Him. Praise is our direct line to the throne.  We should be as comfortable with praising God as we are at home in our living rooms.  Thank Him, Worship Him.  He deserves it all.

For God is sheer beauty, all generous in love, loyal always and ever. The images we see on the covers of magazines are nothing compared to the beauty of God.  His love is deeper than the deepest ocean and higher than the highest mountain.  He pours it out in generous proportions. He never leaves or forsakes us.  He is always with us.

Thank you, God!

Amen and Amen!
