Need a Dose of Hope?

I just finished reading the morning newspaper and was quickly thrown into a state of fear and depression.  Let me share some of today’s headlines:

2 Officer’s Shot – 1 killed;  Drinking on the rise at UD;  Raging wildfires in CA; Hurricane Pounds Coast of Baja; New Rules to Prevent Pilot Fatigue (glad I’m not flying anywhere anytime soon); Same-Sex Marriages Begin in Vermont (this brings the total up to 5 states where this is legal); West Nile Virus found in the area; H1N1 Virus will kill approx 90,000 people this year, those most at risk are between the ages of 25-30 (my son turns 27 in a few days); and sadly, two million baby male chicks a year are killed by throwing them into a grinder alive!

I need a dose of hope!  Here goes:

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.  (Psalm 62:1)

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)

When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul. (Psalm 94:19)

Be blessed, everyone.
