Blurry Vision29 Aug

I spend so much time at my computer, my eyes are starting to go haywire. The strain on my eyes from looking at such small print on a lighted screen is really fatiguing.  After a short amount of time, they actually begin to get blurry.

Upon a recent visit to my eye doctor last week, my eyes were dilated for the examination.  The dilation lasts for several hours, so when I left the office, my eyes were still dilated.  The ride home was awful.  Bright light streamed into my eyes.  I could hardly keep them open.  The bright light blinded me and my vision was foggy at best.  I really feared for my ability to drive home with such impaired vision.  If I was not so familiar with roads I traveld, it would have been very difficult to find my way.

As I struggled to stay on the road and in my lane, I was reminded of Paul’s prayer to the Ephesians.  He prayed that their eyes would be focused and clear so that they would be able to see exactly what God was calling them to do.  For such a long time I wondered around in a fog.  My spiritual vision was exactly like the impaired, blurry, cloudy vision I was physically experiencing. At one time, I was barely able to make out any road God wanted me to take.  So how did my spiritual vision become more clear and focused?

I asked God to make it clear.  I asked Him to bring His will for my life into focus.  I began to spend time seeking first after Him, then developing my God given gifts and passions.  Remember, God WANTS us to see where He is leading us.  He’s not into keeping secrets or playing twenty questions to make us guess at what He’s doing.  He delights in making us intelligent and discerning when it comes to knowing Him personally.

Are you experiencing some blurry vision today?  Is the road on which you’re traveling foggy?  Can you barely read the signs or see the lines?  Ask God to clear up your vision and to bring your spiritual eyesight into focus.   He’s faithful, my friends.  He will do it!
