May the God of hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope! Romans 15:13  The Message

Where would we be without hope?  Some of us face such difficult circumstances on a daily basis.  Where would be if we were not certain that God is always working for us and not against us?  As followers of Christ, hope is the anchor that steadies us when the storms of life come….and they will come. Hope is what we hold onto when we’re being tossed around  like a canoe on the rough seas. We hope for a better tomorrow, hope for a job, hope to recover from illness, hope for relationships to be restored.  Without hope, we would simply find ourselves overcome with despair. Life is just too hard to live it with no hope.

God is hope! Any hope that we have comes directly from God.  We cannot make ourselves have hope.  Hope is God’s gift to us by His Spirit. With the hope that He gives us, we can carry on, no matter how difficult the situation.  Tommorrow will be better.  Although we’re never guaranteed the outcome we might be looking for, hope sustains us.  Hope carries us, comforts us and gradually, our hope completes us.

What might you be hoping for today?
